Muse + Wander is an archive of travel journals led by heritage, written by Issabella Orlando between 2015-2020.

It aimed to explore cultural heritage and integrate it within the context of travel. Through these musings, readers were invited to move thoughtfully through cities and spaces, tune into unique regional culture, memory and identity, and ultimately become more deeply connected to the places you go and the people you meet.

This is a static page archiving select posts from the original blog hosted at museandwander.co.uk.

Our original about page looked like this.

To muse: to be absorbed in thought.

To wander: to move away leisurely from that which is fixed, aimlessly into new corners of the unknown.

To do both simultaneously – to explore with consciousness of culture, identity, and memory – will profoundly change the way you travel and experience this world.

Travel and heritage bring us closer to the cultural pulse of the world around us. This is your guide to both.

Issabella still writes personal essays and editorial features for select publications and on her Substack, Archaeology for Poets. You can also find her on Instagram and see her current work at issabellaorlando.com.
